updates

It's been a while but...

It's been a while but...is anyone still interested?

I did hear back from a few of you but I'm not really sure what to do. As of now I suppose I can stick with my original plan and bring this back in the new year (well, later in the new year, probably spring/summer).

I will most likely need staff...and will probably offer one spot as a card maker. This is totally planning waaay ahead, but why not? lol.

This will give me loads of time to make the other decks for different comics/animated series and then go from there (including the separation of the games since not everyone knows about comics or the animated series or even the movies).

If any of you are still around and would like to suggest any decks they would like to see first, please reply and let me know. Or if you want to help me.

Anywho, hope everyone has a great holiday season!

A bit of a break -- extended hiatus

Not a lot is getting done with the revamp, however I hope to eventually do a complete reboot with prejoining -- only at a later date. The TCG will remain static while I slowly get things to the way that I want them to be. I will not be removing anyone from the members list and everyone will still keep their prejoin status.

This will be an extended hiatus and I'm not 100% sure how long. Most of the work will be behind the scenes, but implementing the new decks is only part of why there is a hiatus, the other part being participation/activity. That alone made it hard for me to want to update/make cards even though I absolutely love comics/Batman (thanks to those of you who are active!!).

Anyway, you are more than welcome to post at the forums, trade, etc but nothing will be updated (included forms at the forum, games and so forth). I appreciate all of you who have stuck by! Unfortunately there just isn't enough at the moment to "have a game" due to only having three to four active members - plus I want to add in the comics decks.

As I said, everything else as far as stats are concerned will not be deleted so if you would like to "rejoin prejoin" when Gotham City is back and ready to start again you are more than welcome to do so. Hopefully there will be more members and participation since those are the most important aspects in keeping the game going. If you are looking for a target restart, please keep in mind next year.

Comics Mini-decks

I have decided to add in some mini-decks featuring comics in general (ie. other characters, actual comics, etc). However with the change I think I'm going to have to hold off on any further development game-wise until I can implement the decks. I haven't really heard back much on the change so hopefully everyone is okay with it.

With that being said, I'm thinking that I need to restart the whole prejoin phase or just continue with this "hiatus", but basically everyone can remain where they are, keep their cards - etc. At the moment I think there are roughly 4 or 5 of you who are active, so thanks!! I'll see what I can do.

Edit
I've decided to go ahead with a restart since I intend to implement the new mini decks - not to mention we need more members. As I said I won't be deleting the members list and I will still keep joining open (to which you will have the status of "prejoin") and then access the TCG from there.

But, so everyone's not completely bored, I will try and update some of the games a long the way (I've heard back from 2 - 3 people total which means GC needs a major reboot). Feel free to play Joker's Wild even though there is no official update next to it. Also, just so I know if you're active (as in you still want to be a member) please comment to let me know. I plan to clean up the members list a bit and delete the inactive members.

Edit 2
All current members now have prejoin status. I am also in the middle of checking trade posts and whatnot. Also, everyone may take this card:

Comics?

Members: Jami & Rena
Affiliates: Journeys and Legends (Pokemon), Heartchu (Korean Pop), Celestial (Anime Characters)

I know some of you have expressed interest in having a comics TCG, so I sort of officially wanted to put that out there. I actually do love Gotham City - the name, the cards, Batman...but I was also interested in maybe expanding it a bit.

Instead of going through the whole revamp and completely changing the TCG, I was thinking about including decks from comics, cartoons, etc where Batman or Batman characters have appeared. Thus, including JLU/JL episodes and maybe even the television series Birds of Prey from a long time ago. I believe I already had this idea in mind when I started Gotham City (ie. Batman/Superman comics or any other crossovers that occur).

I was also thinking that I could create mini decks featuring "comics/cartoons/movies" from DC/Marvel and maybe Vertigo. Probably special decks with 10 cards each? It would be separate from the main TCG and more like a "theme collect" so that it would be optional.

So, let me know how you feel and if you have any opinions on this matter! :) As far as games go with the idea, I can have one or two that are separate from the "Batman universe" to reflect the "themed decks" but won't interfere with this TCG being based on Batman.
